Lamb meat composition is significantly influenced by its dietary intake. Feedlots commonly use high grain percentages in finishing rations to promote rapid weight gain and intramuscular fat development. Typically, these rations have grain contents ranging from 60% to 90%, with protein, supplements and roughages making up the remainder.

However, LANDRANI® Lamb takes a different approach by incorporating only 30% grain into our finishing ration. This lower grain intake can have several beneficial effects on the health composition of the lamb fat:

1. More Favourable Fatty Acid Profile:

A lower grain diet often results in a more beneficial omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acid ratio, indicating a higher presence of the healthier omega-3 fatty acids in the lamb's fat.

2. Higher Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) Content:

CLA, linked to various health benefits, is typically found in higher concentrations in lambs with a lower grain intake.

3. Lower Saturated Fats:

The fat from lambs fed a reduced grain diet generally contains fewer saturated fats.

In conclusion, while many feedlots opt for high grain percentages in their finishing rations, LANDRANI® Lamb's decision to incorporate only 30% grain might offer a more health-beneficial fat composition in our lamb meat. This approach showcases the potential benefits of a reduced grain intake in lamb finishing rations.
